What to Expect
Our relationship changes with our children as they grow up. They may be old enough to make their own decisions but as parents of children who struggle with mental health challenges or substance use things aren't always cut and dry. You have reasons to worry more about their health and safety. They may still live with you which can make things interesting. Join us to talk about the changes when your child becomes a legal adult, talk about hopes and fears of parents of struggling young adults and learn to focus on what you can control. We'll learn how to support a Mental Health Recovery Model, positive parenting approaches to young adult children and how to respond effectively to problem behaviors.
