Parent Peer Support for Pennsylvania Families

Website images_page-0027.jpg

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone

Parent peer support connects you with a trained Parent Peer — a parent who has navigated their own child’s mental health or behavioral challenges.

Through lived experience and professional training, Parent Peers help families understand their options, prepare for important conversations, and move forward with clarity.

No diagnosis is required to reach out.

All services are free and confidential.

How Parent Peers Support You

Parent Peers work alongside you — not in place of you.

Support may include:

Identifying practical strategies for daily challenges

Organizing next steps when things feel unclear

You remain the decision-maker for your child. Parent peer support strengthens your ability to advocate with confidence.

What Happens When You Reach Out?

The first conversation focuses on what you would like support with and what feels most pressing right now.

Some parents connect once for a specific need. Others stay in touch over time as new questions arise.

Your Parent Peer will listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help you sort through possible next steps.

You set the pace. Support continues as long as it is helpful to you.

Who Reaches Out?

Parents contact us when their children are experiencing:

  • School avoidance or truancy

  • Behavioral challenges

  • Mood changes or emotional shifts

  • Conflict with schools or providers

  • Situations involving law enforcement

Some children have a diagnosis. Some do not.

If something about your child’s behavior or mental health has you concerned, you are welcome here.

Important to Know

Parent Peers provide guidance, advocacy support, and resource navigation. They do not provide therapy or clinical services.

The Parent Support Line is not a crisis line. If you need immediate assistance, call 988

We are not a government agency or legal service, and we do not assist with custody or child support matters. Custody, child support or child abuse matters.

Our role is to partner with you as you navigate your child’s mental health journey.
